A difference between US surrogacy programs and many that are offered elsewhere is prenatal care. Prenatal care are the services for the pregnant woman up until birth.
In many Asian countries, surrogates commonly come from humble backgrounds, often from rural farming-based communities. Their families are often quiet and simple, but with active lifestyles. Commonly, the community would have women who would introduce their neighboring girlfriends into participating surrogacy.
Upon becoming a surrogate mother, they are offered the choice to take up residence in an assisted living complex where they are provided with all necessities such as diet, personal care products and allowances. On-call care is also arranged to ensure that they can relax and have an enjoyable pregnancy. The great majority, if not all, would choose to live in the care facility as it commonly offers more than staying in their own homes.
This is opposed to surrogacy programs in the US where it is common for the surrogate to live in their own home. Granted, in the context of the US, many would agree that living in their own home for the pregnancy period would be preferred and provides increased mental comfort.
